If you are using a voip phone, softphone, or receiving your call via SIP, and someone calls your number you will not be charged. Incoming SIP calls are FREE

Call charges only apply to outbound calls. This includes use of the call forwarding function, as the forwarded call generates an outbound call leg.

Which codecs do you support?
We support the standard codecs G.711a, G.711u and G.729 for DID calls. We additionaly support GSM, G726, SLIN, and SPEEX for registered SIP clients.

What IP address do you send calls from
If you receive inbound calls using a voip telephone, sip device, or pbx registered to the sip trunk provided with the account, your calls will be sent from sip.mydivert.com (109.68.162.233)

If you choose to use custom SIP URI peering for your purchsed DID number, the calls to that URI may be sent directly from our mapping servers, sip.didtrunk.com (78.46.42.74).

DID calls can originate from the following IPs:

Geographical DID numbers purchased at MyDivert.com can also be used with your own SIP provider. Simply update your phone number SIP settings from your MyDivert user account.
All incoming calls will then ring to your chosen SIP without diversion.

What is a SIP URI?
URI Means "Uniform Resource Identifier". A SIP URI is used to identify an entity to be addressed via SIP, just like an e-mail address identifies the e-mail recipient. The general format of a SIP URI is user@domain:port

"user" identifies the particular user to address. The user is usualy the extension number, or sip user number, if calls are being sent to an endpoint like a softphone or voip telephone. The user can also be a phone number, if this is supported by the SIP client (sip trunking for pbx).

"domain" can be a fully-qualified domain name or a numeric IP address.

"port" is optional, and if not specified then the standard value of 5060 will be used.

Do I need internet or any device?
No, a big difference between our system and VOIP (Vonage, Lingo, etc) is that with MyDivert.com you donít need to install complicated devices and configure them, you simply log into your account and set your ring-to number.
